The Glimmerglass Regatta is held every year late in the season. The Regatta draws sailors from not only the region but the east coast. Although the largest racing fleet is Thistle Class, Flying Scotts routinely race as well as a variety fleet.

Although there are hotels in the area many of the participants choose to use our tent camping facilities for the weekend.

Most boats arrive Friday evening, register and unwind in preparation for a full weekend of sailing

Race Highlights

Organizing Authority: The Otsego Sailing Club (affiliated with the thistle class and Flying Scot class)

Rules: The GLIMMERGLASS INVITATIONAL REGATTA will be governed the sailing instructiuons, by the 2005-2008 Racing Rules of Sailing and by this Notice of Race, except as any of these are altered by sailing instructions.

Eligibility: The 2007 Glimmerglass Invitational Regatta is Open to boats in the Thistle, Flying Scot or Buccaneer classes.There will also be a Variety Class (call for details)

Entries: Eligible boats and skippers may register in advance or at the regatta per the schedule. The fee for the Glimmerglass Invitational Regatta is $35 per boat if registration is received on or before September 11, 2007, or $45 per boat at the Regatta registration on Friday evening or Saturday morning per the schedule. A $5 discount is given to members of U.S. Sailing.
