Glimmerglass Race Package

The Glimmerglass Regatta is held every year in mid-September. The Regatta draws sailors from New York State as well as much of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. The event is primarily attended by Thistles, Flying Scots, and Buccaneers, though additional classes are always welcome.
Numerous hotels are located nearby, but many sailors choose to use our tent camping facilities for the weekend, often bringing their families to enjoy the many options for recreation in the Cooperstown area.
Most boats arrive Friday evening to register and unwind in preparation for a full weekend of sailing, but ample time is allowed Saturday morning for arrival and pre-race chores. After racing on Saturday, guests enjoy a substantial hors doeuvre table and a full dinner and dessert. The day ends with socializing around the bonfire.
Regatta Details
Organizing Authority: The Otsego Sailing Club (affiliated with the Thistle and Flying Scot classes)
Rules: The Glimmerglass Regatta will be governed by the 2009-2012 Racing Rules of Sailing, except as altered by the sailing instructions.
Entries: Eligible boats and skippers may register in advance or at the regatta per the schedule. The fee for the Glimmerglass Invitational Regatta is $35 per boat if registration is received a week in advance, or $45 per boat at the regatta registration Saturday morning. A $5 discount is given to members of the U.S. Sailing Association.
