was a big success with good weather, food, live music, and dancing!.... and even racing too!! A big thanks goes to Paul Coughlin, Event Chair, (far right in photo)... Nate Fenno, Race Committee Chair... Heidi Jones, Food Coordinator... and all who helped with race committee, preparation, and setup. And congratulations to OSC skippers Ron Streek and Jonas Kelly for their outstanding finishes! |

Order of Finish:
1. Peter Bushnell, Cazenovia
2. Kurt Ofer, Cooperstown
3. Drew Porter, Cooperstown
4. Ray Cudney, Cazenovia
5. Peter Gould, Ithaca
6. Brad Dunn, Hudson Valley
The races were very close with Peter Bushnell and Kurt Ofer separating themselves from the rest of the fleet with consistent finishes and ending up with only a one point difference between them.
There was a three-way tie for third, with Drew Porter taking the tie breaker by edging Ray Cudney by inches in the final race.
The light northeasterly breeze displayed a consistent veer near the windward mark, favoring the eastern shore. Kurt Ofer was the first to venture to the east side in race one, rounding the windward mark with a two minute lead which he maintained to the finish. In the second race, Peter Gould worked the middle of the course to lead at the windward mark before the pack hunted him down on the final leg.
The fleet separated in the third and fourth races and each side of the course was evenly split with the right still paying off the best.
By the final race, all boats stayed to the east shore and sailed the entire race as a tight pack. Nate Fenno and all the race committee members did an impressive job getting 5 races off in a light breeze and three fleets to contend with.
With warm temperatures, changing leaves and sun burning the fog off the lake, the 50th Glimmerglass Regatta was truly memorable.
